Kenya's vast untamed wilderness

About Tsavo East & West

Together, Tsavo East and Tsavo West form one of the largest protected wilderness areas on earth. This is raw, red-earthed Africa — famous for its 'red elephants' dusted in ochre soil, dramatic lava flows, and the crystal-clear Mzima Springs where hippos drift beneath the surface.

Far less visited than the Mara, Tsavo rewards travellers with a genuine sense of solitude and adventure, and pairs beautifully with a beach finale on the nearby Kenyan coast.
