Tarangire & Lake Manyara
Baobabs, tree-climbing lions, and elephant herds
TanzaniaTarangire National Park is famous for its ancient baobab trees and some of the largest elephant herds in East Africa, which gather along the Tarangire River in the dry season. Neighbouring Lake Manyara offers a lush contrast — groundwater forest, soda-lake flamingos, and its famous tree-climbing lions.
Together they form the perfect opening chapter of Tanzania's Northern Circuit, en route to Ngorongoro and the Serengeti.
